how to balance blogging

One of the questions I’ve gotten lately from you is How do you balance having a blog and a full-time job/school? or How do you manage to post so consistently? So I though I’d humor you guys once again and write this post, I’ve seen you really like it when I give you blogging tips so I said, why the hell not?

Truth is, I haven’t been the best at posting consistently and planing my posts like I’m used to, but I blame it on not having taken a break from it in more than a year, and, blogging is a job, so vacations are also necessary, having taken that out of the way I’ll give you my tips to how I’ve managed it for the past year.

Each month, about a week or a little bit more before the next one starts, I start with my planning, I keep a blog journal, where I list all of my ideas, and I spread them out throughout the month, in my case, I’ve decided to post every day monday to friday, so I have to do a loooot of brain-storming, planning, and content creation in advance.

Once I have a layout of what the month is gonna look like, I start planning my content creation, when do I need to take which pictures, can I do it in bulk? When is the deadline to have a draft for the post, or to take those pictures, create those graphics, and so on, and I start assigning dates to each task.

When it comes to taking pictures I try to work in bulks, I try to take all of my flatlays for the month on the same day, for outfit pictures I usually shoot 2 or 3 the same day, I create a ton of drafts and assign them names, categories and tags and so on, just work in bulks as much as you can.

Working the ways I mentioned above certainly helps, they help you free up a bunch of time so please, make sure you’re making time to enjoy life, I know that with school or a job, plus a blog it seems super hard, so maybe, why not post once a week? or twice? See what works for you best so that you still get some free time to enjoy some spare time.

  1. Couldn’t have said it better! This is basically what I do each month as well. The biggest piece of advice is don’t do it if you aren’t having fun! I have seen tons of bloggers run themselves too think bc they work to hard, but the entire idea is to have fun with it xx.

  2. We plan the same way Daniela 😀
I like to plan in advance too. I like to think a month ahead about what posts I could be doing. Then do them in bulk when I can. That way my blog stays up to date and I still can enjoy my free time in my real life 😀

  3. Great tips!

Also I wanted to mention how much I love that you post in Spanish! I’ve been trying to improve my reading and it’s so helpful being able to read the Spanish first and then when I really don’t get it, I can read the English.

  4. Great post!

Also I just wanted to add that I love that you also post in Spanish. I’ve been looking to improve my reading comprehension so it’s great to be able to read blogs that are in both Spanish and English.

  5. Thank you so much for the tips. I will be starting college next month and I started blogging after I finished school , so had no idea how would I manage both. ❤❤

  7. This is great!! I love your bilingual format. I made some drafts that included both languages to transmit the information , but I never published them because I never thought it would work. I loved your tips and the planning ahead advice.

  8. Do you do social media as well? I think it can be overwhelming seeing all of the notifications pop up and I’ve been on my phone/laptop way more than I’d usually like to. 😟
