It seems mindfulness has become a thing of the present, more and more each day people are deciding to pay attention and choosing to be aware of their surroundings at all time, enjoying the here and now and deciding to forgo the multitasking that is a zeitgeist of the aughts.

But how does one become more mindful in these distraction plagued times?

It’s not easy, of course, but here are some tips.

Parece ser que la atención consciente o mindfulness se ha vuelto algo del presente, más y más cada día la gente decide prestar atención y elige estar consciente de su entorno en todo momento, disfrutar el aquí y ahora y decidiendo dejar de lado el multitasking que es un zeitgeist de los 00’s.

Pero, ¿cómo se vuelve uno consciente de éstas cosas en una era llena de distracciones?

No es fácil, por supuesto, pero aquí hay unos tips.

TAKE WALKS: helps calm and clear the mind.
SALIR A CAMINAR: ayuda a tranquilizar y aclarar la mente.
PAY MORE ATTENTION TO DAILY TASKS: because mindfulness means you’re present in everything you do.
PRESTAR MÁS ATENCIÓN A LAS TAREAS DIARIAS: porque la atención consciente significa que estás presente en todo lo que haces.
DO SOMETHING CREATIVE: not only will you enjoy it more, but by being mindful while creating something you’ll become more creative.
HAS ALGO CREATIVO: no sólo lo disfrutatás más, pero al darle toda tu atención a crear algo te volverá más creativo.

BE AWARE OF YOUR BREATH: I’ve been doing this for quite a while, and it’s seriously amazing, and relaxing.
SE CONSCIENTE DE TU RESPIRACIÓN: he estado intentándolo desde hace tiempo, en verdad es increíble y relajante.
ONE THING AT A TIME: don’t multitask, seriously, don’t.
UNA COSA A LA VEZ: no hagas varias cosas al mismo tiempo, en serio, no.
UNPLUG: it’s refreshing and helps you concentrate on the present.
DESCONÉCTATE: es refrescante y te ayuda a concentrarte en el presente.
EXPERIENCE LIFE: try new things, go out, see, smell, touch, taste, LISTEN.
EXPERIMENTA LA VIDA: prueba cosas nuevas, sal, ve, huele, toca, prueba, ESCUCHA.
EMBRACE YOUR FEELINGS: don’t hide from them, feel them.
ACEPTA TUS SENTIMIENTOS: no te escondas de ellos, siéntelos.

MEDITATE: even if it’s for just a few minutes, it helps you be aware of your surroundings, relax and realize some things you might not usually do.
MEDITA: aún si es sólo por unos minutos, te ayuda a estar consciente de tus alrededores, a relajarte y darte cuenta de algunas cosas que usualmente no notas.
EAT: but do it the right way, make yourself conscious about what you’re putting in your mouth, savor it,  enjoy it, take small bites, do not look at your phone or anything else.
COME: pero del modo correcto, vuélvete consciente de lo que pones en tu boca, en tu cuerpo, saboréalo, disfrútalo, mastica despacio, no mires tu teléfono ni nada más.
JOURNAL: do it on paper, there’s something amazing about it, I recently got into bullet journaling and it’s helped me become more mindful.
LLEVA UN DIARIO: en papel, hay algo genial sobre eso, recientemente le entré al bullet journaling y me ha ayudado a estar más consciente de mi vida diaria.
