Skincare is just so important, you hear it everywhere, especially in the last couple of years, wear sunscreen everyday, take off your make up before bed, moisturize, exfoliate, but how many of us listen and do it on a daily basis? To be honest with you, I’ve been lazy in that department for a while, and this year I’ve been trying to slowly develop a routine, I know I’ve still got a long way to go, but the important thing is I started, so here is my skincare routine so far.

As soon as I wake up I wash my face, to do this I use my electric brush and Neutrogena’s face wash (my review here), I love this brush, I got it at Sally Beauty for about $30 USD and I really love it, it’s as good as other brands and the replacements are fairly cheap and you can get them  from them as well.

After washing my face I spritz it with thermal water from Avene, I then apply my moisturizer, and on top of that I layer my sunscreen from Avene as well.

At night, I remove my make up using Garnier’s micellar water (read my review here), after this I wash my face the exact same way I do in the mornings, same brush and same wash. I let it air dry too.

Then I use FAB’s Ultra Repair Cream (talked about it here) on my nose and cheeks, cause they tend to dry, especially during this time of the year, for my forehead and chin I use CVS’ Acne Treatment Gel, which is a dupe to Clean & Clear’s PERSA-GEL 10. To top it all off, I sleep on satin pillowcases, which is amazing for your skin.

So, do you have any tips or recommendations? I’d love to read them! 🙂

  1. Yesss! I am so slacking in this department. I always moisturize my face however when it comes to cleansing it, I don’t do much other than wash my makeup off and wash it in the shower. How bad is that? Very bad apparently! Every now and then I’ll exfoliate but again, very lazy to do it. I do drink a lot of water to keep my skin clear though, I do recommend that because I know that’s very helpful!

  2. I love that you mention the sunscreen as an essential step. Just as important is choosing one without chemicals! Yikes. Always go for zinc based mineral sunblocks… even if an spf is not specified. Look at the % of the zinc in the ingredients and that’s a good indication of the protection. 7%-10% is a good start for medium toned skin.

  3. As a licensed Esthetician it’s so great to see someone doing their own at home skincare routine and the right way! Micellar Water is a wonderful product and your facial brush is even better to pull out all the dirt, oils, and blackheads out of your skin and to the surface.
Thanks for sharing have a great day!
